Gavin the Great's Run!

Krista Zweers' 4 year old son Gavin was found to have a very large tumor taking up almost half of the space of his abdomen a little less than 3 days ago. They had to perform surgery on him right away and are still not sure if it is cancerous or not. Until we know otherwise we are willing this little 4 year old boy to NOT have cancer.

As many of you know, Krista is an amazing mother runner who was a huge cheerleader for our team during the Cascade Lakes Relay. She was the "mother" in van 2 who always made sure there was someone supporting and cheering on the runner on the road. She was the caregiver. And now Krista and her beautiful family need our support. Two out of three of her boys suffer from seizures, including Gavin. Now she has quite a battle before her. To support Krista, Gavin, and their family, we are organizing a Cascade Lakes Relay style run to raise money to go towards any and all expenses they may need to pay for medical bills and otherwise support them while they take time off from work to be by his side.

Here is the concept: 6 women, one van, 48 hours and as many miles as we can make. The race is tentatively planned for the weekend of April 20th. 48 hours is based on the CLR style race and more importantly these words from Krista "I am so overwhelmed by all that has happened in 48 hrs. My little love who is my shining light lays helpless with only our love and support and prayers to fill him with healing."
We are hoping to get per mile based pledges along with general donations. Anything you can contribute will make all of the difference and our team will run our behinds off for it!.
