Welcome to the support site for Laura Anderson Markle. You will be aware by now that Laura has been given the horrific news that she has stage 4 primary liver cancer.
This is made all the more tragic in that she is of course only 30 years of age, a beautiful, funny and adventurous young woman. Moreover, she was only married to the love of her life, Ian Markle, in June 2012.
Having recently returned from a beautiful belated honeymoon in Italy and Serbia, she was greeted by this news and warned that time may not be on her side.
Due to the very nature of this aggressive disease Laura has not worked since October, creating extra burden and stress. She will be undergoing sessions of Chemotherapy, which will themselves also make her feel ill and unwell as they not only target the bad cells but the good ones as well.
Groups all over the world are now galvanizing in the name of Laura Markle; planning benefit dances & parties, sports events, personal arduous challenges like mountain hikes and marathons and painting portraits and making personal jewelry for non-profit.
You are here because you want to do something and possibly don't know what to do. Whilst, the events that are taking place are a fantastic way to raise awareness and show love, the biggest thing we can do for Laura is donate to make the next chapter of her life as comfortable and worry free as possible, any excess funds will be given to a charity or hospital of Laura's choosing.
We have an initial target of £7000, however, i know that her friends and family are a generous bunch and i am positive we can smash the £10,000 barrier together.
I asked Ian Markle to tell me what Laura means to him, here is what he said:
You really never know how much someone means to you, until you think of your life without them.
Who would have thought, four months after the happiest day of our lives, doctors would tell us that our time together could be limited.
Laura is my friend, my companion, my love. Laura makes me feel invincible, she makes me want to be a better man. I can't imagine my world without Laura beside me.
Please dig really deep and give what you can, let us together show them how much we love them and care for them.
