Carmen's Cancer Treatment

Here's a little background of our situation. My aunt Carmen, 50 years old, a widowed mom of 5 amazing kids, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer, originally developing as Breast Cancer in 2004 but now has spread to her bones, lungs and back.

Carmen's husband (my uncle) passed away unexpectedly in 2004, leaving Carmen to raise 5 children, ages 8, 10, 13, 19 & 20 on her own. Two months after her husbands death, Carmen was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. They removed her breast and underwent chemotherapy and she was then cleared of cancer. But unfortunately, the cancer returned in 2011 and now we've learned this month (January 2013) that the cancer has spread throughout her body to other vital areas.

After having already undergone the horror of chemotherapy back in 2004, she wishes to not repeat the brutal treatment. Carmen and her children have done extensive research and believe at the current stage she's in, chemotherapy may be more dangerous than a solution. Therefore, she has been presented with this alternative treatment plan by a hospital and team of doctors who have reviewed her case and feel confident that she will benefit from the use of autologous treatment cells.

As you can read and many of you know, this family has already gone through so much in this life to break them down, and yet they are still fighting for life and holding strong to each other with an amazing hope & FAITH. We are pleading for your help to raise the money needed for this treatment because, as you may not know, most alternative treatments are not covered by insurance.

In preparation to treat the spread of this cancer throughout her body, Carmen has begun radiation (10 sessions) to reduce the size of the tumor in her spine to avoid becoming paralyzed. It's vital that we raise the money needed immediately so that the doctors can admit her into the hospital to begin treatment hopefully the first week of February 2013

Aquí hay un poco de historia de nuestra situación. Mi tía Carmen, de 50 años, una madre viuda con 5 hijos increíbles, fue diagnosticado con la etapa 4 del cáncer metastásico, originalmente como el desarrollo de cáncer de mama en 2004, pero ahora se ha extendido a los huesos, los pulmones y espalda.

El esposo de Carmen (mi tío) falleció inesperadamente en 2004, dejando a Carmen sola con 5 hijos, de edades 8, 10, 13, 19 y 20. Dos meses después de la muerte de su esposo, Carmen fue diagnosticada con cáncer de mama. Le quitaron su pecho y se sometió a quimioterapia y ella fue absuelto después del cáncer. Pero, por desgracia, el cáncer regresó en 2011 y ahora hemos aprendido este mes (enero de 2013) de que el cáncer se ha expandido por todo el cuerpo y a otras áreas vitales.

Después de haber sufrido ya el horror de la quimioterapia en 2004, desea no repetir el tratamiento brutal. Carmen y sus hijos han realizado una amplia investigación y creen que en la etapa actual en que está, la quimioterapia puede ser más peligroso que una solución. Por lo tanto, han sido presentado con este plan de tratamiento alternativo por un equipo de médicos del hospital y que han revisado su caso y confian en que ella se beneficiará del uso de el tratamiento de células autólogas.

Como pueden leer y muchos de ustedes conosen, esta familia ya ha pasado por muchas cosas en esta vida, y sin embargo, siguen luchando por la vida y se mantienen fuerte el uno al otro con una esperanza y increíble FE!. Estamos pidiendo su ayuda para recaudar el dinero necesario para este tratamiento porque, como ustedes alamejor no saben, los tratamientos alternativos no están cubiertos por el seguro medico.

En preparación para tratar de detener que se expanda este cáncer en todo su cuerpo, Carmen ha comenzado la radiación (10 sesiones) para reducir el tamaño del tumor en la columna vertebral para evitar la parálisis. Es vital recaudar el dinero necesario inmediatamente para que los médicos puedan admitirla en el hospital para iniciar el tratamiento la primera semana de Febrero, 2013.
