La Muse writers' and artists' retreat in Southern France offers creative individuals a peaceful, inspiring, mountain setting in which to pursue the work they love, at an affordable cost. Look online. There's nothing else like La Muse.

In order to continue with La Muse as we know it, we have to make up for an anticipated two-year 40% shortfall in our revenue (due to the crisis), a sum equaling about 50,000 Euros. If we do make up that deficit with your donations, we will be able to make it through this phase, and pledge to continue to offer residencies and fellowships to artists and writers and artisans at all stages of their creative lives.

Also, know that your donation is going to pay toward an artist or writer's retreat here soon for three weeks. Every time we get to an amount which pays for a room here we will be awarding a retreat to one of the many artists and writers who have applied here for fellowships/residencies/barters. When we award the residency we'll get back in touch with you again to let you know who the artist is you have helped and what they will be coming here to work on.

La Muse's mission is to keep La Muse accessible to both emerging and established artists and writers and to provide for them a space in which they feel inspired and focused on their work. Because La Muse is not supported (at present) by any foundations or grants, it cannot afford to offer more than a few residencies a year as well as a barter opportunity nearly every month. Those presently offered are not underwritten by any foundations; La Muse is simply giving a room for one retreat or more to writers and artists who apply, and it does this in order to support artists and their work.

If you are a former Muser or a friend to the arts (either an individual or part of an organization) please consider giving to La Muse so that other creative individuals can avail of the gift you give to take time away to concentrate on their work.
