Hi all,

It’s been 3 ½ years since our dear friend Abby passed away and I’m sure you all — like me — think of her often. We are hoping to honor the memory of Abby with a dedication plaque on the new playground near Soldotna Creek.

The new community playground in Soldotna was recently built by locals in seven days. Everything in the park was sponsored or donated! The Soldotna Community Playground Committee was able to achieve this through donations from people who wish to dedicate pieces of the playground in the name of family members, grandkids, kids, etc. We would like to dedicate part of the playground to Abby and by fundraising $2,000 we can have her name placed on the merry-go-round or monkey bars. Several people have already made large donations (thank you!), and we would love if any of you who knew Abby would help us out — even if it’s just $5. Any donation is greatly appreciated! It’s also a surprise for Abby’s parents, so please keep it quiet!! If you donate, I will include your name on the card to Tim and Mary Beth.

I took a couple of pictures this weekend during the Kenai River Festival. The playground is awesome and I'm so excited to be part of this effort!

Thank your for making this an opportunity for everyone who knew abby, to do something in her memory. What an awesome thing! Can't wait to see pictures of the park and hope it brings as much joy to the users of it as Abby did to all of us who knew her :)

The thing we remember most about Abby was her contagious smile. We hope that the joy and laughter she brought into our lives will be remembered by this memorial surrounded by those enjoying life as much as she did.

Way to go Brooke and anyone else involved with making this happen! Didn't know Abby real well, but what an awesome thing to do in rememberance of her! The playground is phenomenal and my kids love it!!!
